Are you in the market for a boat? Do you love browsing the latest in boating accessories? You’re in luck! It’s time for the 23rd annual Port Credit In-Water Boat Show and it promises to be a good one! Visit the Port Credit Harbour Marina, located at 1 Port Street East, Mississauga (Hurontario and Lakeshore Rd) from August 23-25 to see what the marine industry has to offer. There’s something for everybody.
If you are thinking of a new boat, this is the place to be. Boats are available for boarding and, in some cases, test driving (arranged with the dealer). If you have a boat in mind it never hurts to call the dealer ahead of time to arrange a meeting as shows are busy. Docks can become crowded so PFDs are recommended for small children.
Don’t forget to visit the marine industry’s only Consignment Tent where you can sell and purchase gently used boating items. 50% of all proceeds will be donated to Ontario Sailing, a great not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of boating and sailing. If you are interested in selling your items please visit the show website as an application must be completed.
A fantastic series of seminars is scheduled for the entire weekend at the Speakers Tent. Experienced international boaters will be discussing their exciting voyages including Cruising through the Canals of France, down the Intercoastal Waterways and Cruising Cuba. Tips on handling larger sailboats and powerboats promise to provide great information for the new to the avid boater. Also attending this year is the Canadian Hydrographic Service with a discussion on how data is collected and transformed into nautical charts.
If you need a break from walking the docks, stop by the award-winning Great Lakes Brewing Company Refreshment Tent and catch local musicians performing every evening.
This promises to be a fantastic event and a great way to spend a late-summer weekend. Don’t forget to stop by Northstar’s Booth to say hello.
