According to Environment Canada, it’s likely that water levels on lakes Erie and Ontario are going to be below average throughout the spring and summer but as of the April publication of LEVELnews there had been an increase in levels during March, making the chance of reaching average or higher levels a little more probable. As of April reports, lakes Superior and Michigan-Huron were well below their 1918-2010 average levels and below their levels at the same time last year.
Environment Canada publishes a monthly newsletter called LEVELnews, which summarizes water levels in all of the Great Lakes and provides a very helpful Forecast for the upcoming month and a current water level table.
