On June 25, the third annual Boating for the Cure will kick off from the Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst, Muskoka. Since 2009, this great fundrasing event has raised over $105,000 for Prostate Cancer Canada and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. This year’s goal is to raise a staggering $100,000, well within reach when you consider to date $69,300 has already been pledged!
Boaters are greeted with a Welcome Breakfast and then gather for the main event, a rally around Lake Muskoka. Followimg Treasure Maps, participants collects tokens that are turned in at an award ceremony and reception at the end of the day. A BBQ, entertainment and a trip through the locks at Port Carling into Lake Rousseau, followed by a reception with refreshments, silent auction and award ceremony make for a memorable day.
To make a great day even more exciting, Edgewater Boats has released a special edition 145CC boat – one pink and one blue. For each one sold, $1000 will be donated to breast cancer (pink boat) or prostate cancer (blue boat).
