Southwest of Gananoque is a cluster is islands called the Admirality Islands, a popular destination for recreational boaters. Each islands has its own character and offers its own charms.
For a truly unique experience visit Half Moon Bay. Located on the southwestern corner of Bostwick Island is a natural wonder that worshipers have been using since 1887. An open-air cathedral offers a spiritual experience like no other, with walls of granite growing from the ground and a pulpit of rock. Visitors use their own boats as pews as they attend services of various denominations every Sunday in July and August.
Travel the Wanderer’s Channel, a sheltered channel that winds its way through the centre of the Admirality Islands or Steamboat Channel, between Forsyth and Hay Islands, where historic cottages and grand boathouses dot the landscape. Visit Aubrey Island, a low granite island on the western edge of Frontenanc Axis with it’s maple-oak-ash forest and small bays hosting abundant reptile life. This is a favourite anchorage spot of boaters and hosts docks to access private campsites.
